The SC90 Software Development System is an evaluation and development platform for developing programs, especially in assembly language, on the Zilog(tm) series of microcomputers.
The SC90 board, with a Zilog Z86C90 cpu running at 12Mhz, supports developing programs on the uartless "consumer controller processor" Z8 microcontrollers with on-board comparators, such as: Z86C02, Z86C03, Z86C04, Z86C08, Z86C09, Z86C19, Z86C30, Z86C31, Z86C40, Z86C90.
The board has 64k of program memory, (divided into 32k eprom and 32k ram), 64k of data memory, RS232 interface, headers for port and RS232 selections, and space for breadboarding.
A full-function monitor is included for the SC90 board. The package contains source code for a monitor, with a software uart that has Control-S, Control-Q flow control and fully buffered I/O for downloading, loading and execution of hex files. The monitor gives access to all cpu registers, all program memory and all data memory. It provides execution and breakpoint capabilities, a comprehensive disassembler, and a built-in library of 60+ monitor services.
Also included is a copy of Zilog's assembler and linker.
This is a stand-alone system that requires only a serial RS-232 interfaced host, a telecommunication program and a flat Ascii editor to be up and running to develop software for any of the above microcontrollers.
To get you started, a some 2,000 line demonstration file is included that illustrates many aspects of programming the Z86C90 hardware and using the SC90 monitor software environment.
Documentation for the SC90 System is in html encoding; you can have all documentation on line via your web browser while doing software and hardware development!
